It contains two retinoid actives—retinaldehyde (retinal) and oleyl adapalenate (Adapinoid®)—both of which belong to the retinoid family. All retinoids are contraindicated during pregnancy due to their teratogenic potential (risk of birth defects). This applies to both topical and oral retinoids, even though topical absorption is lower. If you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding, discontinue use and consult your OB-GYN or dermatologist for pregnancy-safe alternatives such as azelaic acid, glycolic acid (low percentage), or niacinamide.
